MADRID Shon Coleman Jersey , Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- Spain power forward Pau Gasol confirmed that he is carrying an injury but assured that he will be able to take part in the quarterfinal of the FIBA World Cup on Wednesday.


Spain take on France in Madrid in what is a repeat of the 2010 quarterfinal which was won by the French and a rematch of their meeting in the group stage of this World Cup less than a week ago.


Spain won that game by a comfortable 88-64, but following their last 16 triumph against Senegal, the 34-year-old Gasol admitted he was feeling the pace of having played 6 games in 8 days and missed Monday's training session, although in an interview with Spanish TV station 'Cuatro' on Tuesday, he insisted he would be fit to play on Wednesday.

Gasol has been Spain's most influential player throughout the tournament and the former LA Laker, who recently joined the Chicago Bulls, has formed part of a devastating trip in the zone along with his brother, Marc Carl Nassib Jersey , and Serge Ibaka.


They dominated against France in their Group A game, but Pau believes things will be different in the knockout stage.


"It's going to be difficult. The two sides know each other well and we are both looking forward to playing each other again. It is going to be emotional," he said.


Spain captain, Juan Carlos Navarro, also looked ahead to the quarter-final Emmanuel Ogbah Jersey , knowing a win will place Spain in the hunt for the medals.


"It will be a game with more nerves that in the group stage and although we are favorites, we have to be careful because France have players who play in the NBA and know how to play. We know this is going to be totally different to what happened in the group stage, because this is much more important," said the shooting guard
